Oz Lotto is an Australian lottery introduced on the 26 of February 1994. It is owned by a group called the Tatts group. OZ Lotto is administered by ‘the Lott’. They oversee the operations of the lottery in all Australian states excluding Western Australia where the ‘lotterywest’ are the ones in charge of administering the lottery.
Draws for the OZ lottery take place every Tuesday at 8:30 pm AEST and up until the 18 of October 2005, 6 numbers were required to be selected out of 45. Currently, its no longer 6 numbers to be picked but 7 numbers out of a possible 45. The effect of this increase in numbers required by players to pick is that it has greatly reduced the likelihood or possibility of winning the jackpot. That is not to say that it is impossible to win the jackpot though. So to win the jackpot in the OZ lotto, the numbers you picked in your lottery ticket must match the seven numbers picked during the draw. Prizes are also available for tickets that have less than 7 of its numbers matching the numbers picked during the draw.
In all Australian lotto jackpot, OZ lotto boast of the largest jackpot prize which stands at about $100 million. On the 6 of November 2012, after the draw was done, 4 winners hit the jackpot and they shared the jackpot price which stood at about $112 million. The probability of winning the OZ Lotto jackpot is 1:45,379,620.
